Dear visitors, webmasters, copyright holders, Setting up a website isn't so hard, keeping it legal is far more difficult. As you know (or might not know), there is a copyright on every image you can find on the web. It's easy for images with the copyright holder named on the image, but as you might know, most pictures are complety blank if you consider copyright or the copyright is placed somewhere invisible in a few pixels or so. I gather my pictures from places like the Internet, CD-Rom, send to me by visitors, newsgroups, ... So I have the problem that most of the time I do not know who's the rightful owner of the copyright. My copyright policy 1. Sorry for using the pictures that are legally yours. I'm really sorry, but I didn't know. 2. Please do not notice my webhost because he will determine my account immediately and that would be a shame for all the hard work I put in. 3. If I know the owner of the copyright I place the line "All images are courtesy of ..." beneath the gallery. 4. If you mail me about a copyright infringement on my website, and you're the rightful owner of the copyright you have 2 choices. (a) You can force me to remove the gallery from my site. This is the one I least want but I will do that within 48 hours. If not you have the right to notify my webhost. (b) Or you can send me a banner and I'll place a link up to your site. I also will place the line "All images are courtesy of ..." beneath the gallery. 5. Bad judgement can happen so dont have a grudge on me if I took them by accident eg. I am only human.
